ESL Pro League Season 24 has reached the playoffs, with eight teams remaining in Katowice. Vitality and MOUZ made it through the opening stage without a defeat, while several established teams have already been eliminated.
G2, NAVI and FaZe are among the teams no longer in the tournament. Meanwhile, 1win and PARIVISION have earned their places in a quarter-final lineup that looks far less predictable than many expected before the event began.
The remaining teams will now compete for a place in Sunday’s best-of-five grand final.
Vitality and MOUZ set the standard
Vitality were one of the most convincing teams during the opening stage. They won all three of their matches and secured a direct place in the quarter-finals without needing to play any of the later elimination rounds.
Their victory against 1win was followed by wins over Aurora and Falcons. The results strengthened their position as one of the main favourites to lift the trophy in Katowice.
MOUZ were just as impressive. They completed the opening stage without dropping a single map, beating M80, Spirit and FURIA on their way to the playoffs.
The victory against FURIA was particularly important. FURIA had started the tournament well, but MOUZ controlled the series and once again showed why they are so difficult to beat across a best-of-three.
Vitality and MOUZ will enter the quarter-finals with confidence, although neither team has been given an easy route to the final.
1win produce the biggest surprise
Few teams have improved as much during the tournament as 1win.
They began with a defeat against Vitality but responded by beating G2, Legacy and Spirit. Those three victories were enough to secure a place in the quarter-finals, where they will face Aurora.
Beating Spirit was the biggest result of their run. Spirit entered the tournament among the favourites, but 1win handled the pressure and took advantage of their opportunities throughout the series.
Aurora will still be favourites in Friday’s opening quarter-final, but 1win have already shown that they can compete against stronger opposition.
Spirit survive after a difficult week
Spirit are still in the tournament, but their route to the playoffs was far from straightforward.
They opened with a victory against ShindeN before losing to MOUZ. A win over PARIVISION kept them on track, but defeat against 1win meant they had to play another elimination match against M80.
Spirit eventually won that series and secured the final available playoff place. They now face Falcons in the quarter-finals.
Falcons have looked more settled during this tournament and defeated Aurora and Vitality during the opening stage. Spirit will need a much stronger performance if they are going to reach the semi-finals.
PARIVISION send NAVI home
PARIVISION have been responsible for one of the tournament’s biggest eliminations.
After losing matches against Spirit and FURIA, they recovered with victories over G2 and NAVI. Their win against NAVI secured a quarter-final against Vitality and ended NAVI’s tournament earlier than expected.
Facing Vitality is a major step up, but PARIVISION have already shown that they can perform when elimination is on the line. They will have little pressure on them against one of the tournament favourites.
FURIA also survived the opening stage after an inconsistent run. They defeated BetBoom and PARIVISION before losing to MOUZ and Aurora, but secured their playoff place with a victory over 9z.
Their reward is a quarter-final against MOUZ, the only team that did not lose a map during the opening stage.

Four matches that could go either way
Vitality and MOUZ will begin their matches as favourites, but the other two quarter-finals are much harder to call.
Aurora have produced the better results across the tournament, although 1win arrive after three consecutive victories. Falcons have also looked strong, but Spirit remain dangerous if their best players find their usual level.
FURIA have enough individual quality to challenge MOUZ, but their earlier meeting showed the difference between the teams. MOUZ were more consistent in the important rounds and gave FURIA very few chances to build momentum.
PARIVISION face the most difficult task of the day. Their victories over G2 and NAVI deserve respect, but Vitality have looked calm and controlled throughout the tournament.
With several major teams already eliminated, there is still room for another surprise before Sunday’s grand final.
