SINNERS and Nemiga meet in the upper-bracket semi-final of the PGL Masters Bucharest Europe Closed Qualifier. Both teams arrive in excellent form. SINNERS have won six consecutive matches, while Nemiga enter the series on an eight-match winning streak after an impressive opening performance.

SINNERS continue to produce results

SINNERS’ winning run includes victories over BBL, K27, Phantom, Nemesis and Ninjas in Pyjamas. The 2–1 win against NIP was particularly encouraging, as they recovered after losing the opening map.

The Czech side have plenty of experience through players such as beastik and SHOCK, while MoDo provides a reliable presence with the AWP. The team have recently looked more comfortable and composed in close series.

SINNERS also won the previous meeting between these teams. They defeated Nemiga 2–0 in January, although the scores of 13–10 on Nuke and 13–11 on Ancient show that the series was more competitive than the final result suggests.

Nemiga make the stronger opening statement

Nemiga faced the higher-ranked Inner Circle in their opening match but delivered an impressive 2–0 victory. They won Anubis 13–10 before taking complete control of Ancient and closing the series 13–7.

The most encouraging aspect was the balance within the team. Every Nemiga player finished with a rating above 1.00, meaning they did not have to depend entirely on one individual performance.

Syph0 led the team with 38 kills and a 1.35 rating. Xant3r and khaN also played important roles, while KaiR0N- consistently created problems across both maps.

Nemiga have now won eight matches in a row. Some of those victories came against modest opposition, but beating Inner Circle without dropping a map makes their current form difficult to ignore.

The veto gives both teams opportunities

SINNERS have produced strong recent results on Dust2 and Mirage, while Nemiga have looked comfortable on Mirage and Nuke.

Dust2 could become an important part of the veto. SINNERS have won around two-thirds of their recent matches on the map, but Nemiga removed it against Inner Circle. Banning it again would take away one of SINNERS’ strongest options.

Nemiga’s longer-term record on Ancient has been poor, but their 13–7 victory against Inner Circle showed clear improvement. They looked well prepared and comfortable on a map selected by their opponent.

The previous meeting between SINNERS and Nemiga was also decided by small margins. Nemiga appear stronger now and should be better equipped to turn those close maps in their favour.

Verdict

SINNERS deserve respect after six consecutive victories, and their previous win over Nemiga makes them an understandable favourite.

Nemiga’s momentum is more convincing, however. They have won eight matches in a row and produced an excellent team performance against Inner Circle. Their entire lineup contributed, and their current level appears higher than their ranking suggests.

If Nemiga can remove Dust2 and maintain the individual level shown in their opening match, they have a good chance of extending their winning streak.
