Betclic and PRIVATE meet in the round of 16 of the 1win Private Club Season 2 Closed Qualifier. The match is played online as a best-of-three series, with the winner moving one step closer to a place at the main event.
Betclic enter as the stronger team on paper, but PRIVATE have enough map depth to make the series competitive.
Betclic have faced stronger opposition
Betclic’s recent results have been mixed, although the level of their opponents must be considered. The Polish team took a map from Astralis and recorded a 2–1 victory over Eternal Fire during their recent run.
They also beat ASTRAL 2–1, while their defeats came against Astralis, JiJieHao and HOTU. Those matches have given Betclic regular experience against teams competing at a higher level than most of PRIVATE’s recent opponents.
Mateusz “ex1st” Witman has been one of Betclic’s most reliable players over the past three months. His individual numbers have been strong, while the team also have enough firepower throughout the lineup to take control when they build an early lead.
Betclic are currently ranked above PRIVATE by both HLTV and the Valve Regional Standings. That difference does not guarantee a victory, but it reflects the stronger opposition Betclic have faced.
PRIVATE have been difficult to predict
PRIVATE arrive after an inconsistent run of results. They have beaten Magnum and EVO Elite 2–0, but also suffered defeats against K27 and Nuclear TigeRES.
The Russian team have previously recorded wins against SINNERS, Nemiga and BET-M, showing that they should not be dismissed. However, they have struggled to produce the same level from one match to the next.
Vladislav “H4SAN4TOR” Tuchin has been one of their better performers in recent months. PRIVATE will need another strong performance from him if they are going to challenge Betclic across the entire series.
PRIVATE’s map pool also gives them a chance. Their recent record on Mirage has been particularly good, while they have also produced solid results on Nuke and Dust2.
The map veto could keep the series close
Betclic should have an advantage if Ancient enters the series, while PRIVATE will likely feel more comfortable on Mirage or Nuke.
This makes Betclic -1.5 maps difficult to trust. PRIVATE have enough options in the veto to select a map where they can compete, even if Betclic remain the stronger team overall.
A three-map series would not be surprising. Betclic have recently played several close matches, including 2–1 results against Eternal Fire and ASTRAL and a 1–2 defeat against Astralis.

PRIVATE have also gone to three maps against K27 and several other opponents during the past few months. Their inconsistency makes them difficult to back as the outright winner, but they are capable of taking advantage if Betclic start slowly.
Verdict
Betclic have played against stronger teams and have shown that they can compete at a higher level. Their victory over Eternal Fire stands out, while taking a map from Astralis also showed their potential.
PRIVATE can make the series uncomfortable, especially if they secure one of their preferred maps. However, Betclic have the stronger lineup and should have more answers across a full best-of-three.
